What Is It?

MyMainSt is a comprehensive 'in street' branding and promotional concept.  By combining with your fellow local traders, it works to place your business on the same virtual "playing-field" as the large shopping centres and big corporations - helping you to compete cost-effectively with their web branding and promotional budgets.

MyMainSt is not just another 'Local Directory'!

A lot of small businesses in the past have created sites thinking that "if they build it the traffic will come" only to find out after a lot of money spent that it's not the case.

Most retailers within strip shops areas are simply targeting their local consumers, thats where we come in.  This is genuinely targetted at your local market, the people who actually spend money in your street, not those from "the other side of town" who 'may' find you online.

Many of the existing text based directories are charging similar amounts as their starting figure and the prices generally go up from there and none of these have any in street presence and they list any business from outside the area happy to pay for premium advertising.

All of this is to say nothing of the robust quality code that isn't prone to ongoing issues or cyber attacks that many smaller sites are given the limited amounts spent in securing them and the minimal maintanence carried out on the sites. Like any product, it needs to have some form of maintenance plan actively in place which we have and are constantly looking at ways to add value into the site for all stakeholders.

This is a full inclusive 'in street' branding and promotional concept, not simply a page with some text and our version of localised info.
A $700 set up fee and $40 p/year for a multi page site is on the cheap side and whilst I have no doubt there are some quality sites for that price the majority don't come near being what you would consider a quality site and generally don't have much time put into the most important part, the 'user experience'. Within this sort of budget most of these sites are usually hosted overseas where they share space with a huge number of other sites, hence slower load times and they can be more prone to having a lot of 'downtime'.

Given all of your shops are members of your group then they can all list their weekly specials and have them sent out to 'real' interested locals, something that has eluded many small business website owners todate.

The perception has been that there is little that can compete with having your own domain name which I totally agree with and encourage any small business that see value in having their own site to have one created. If you want to sell to locals, be in front of locals however they may find you.....
